Shamira is a nascent demon lord who controls the Midnight Isles, the former Abyssal realm of Nocticula, and is the most likely candidate to become a full demon lord to inherit the vacancy Nocticula left behind. Prior to Nocticula's ascension, she was the most senior and powerful of the succubi and incubi in the Midnight Isles, and ruler of the Midnight Isle of Alinythia and the Porphyry City of Alushinyrra.

At any one time, there exist hundreds—if not thousands— of nascent demon lords in the Abyss. Those who have been associated with the Inner Sea region are summarized here. All nascent demon lords are chaotic evil and range in power from CR 21 to CR 25. The boons they grant are less complex than those granted by demon lords, manifesting as spell-like abilities usable twice per day each.
